Raavanan & Raavan & Villain.

Raavan Movie is based on thousand years old epic Ramayana, and to some extent Mani Ratnam(Director) has been able to revise and depict modern Ramayana in exquisite and picturesque beautiful backgrounds. Beera as Raavan is the main leading role of a protagonist, who not only have a compelling role and image of itself but audience is more mesmerized by a suggesting connection between a villain and heroine and amazing backdrop.
 Star Cast:
Abhishek Bachchan as Beera (Vikram In Tamil and Telugu as Veera)
Aishwarya Bachchan as Ragini
Vikram as Dev Pratap Sharma
Govinda as Forest officer

Story: Mani Ratnam
Music: AR Rehman
Director: Mani Ratnam

Last week, Abhishek Bachchan reportedly told that it’s not a story about Ram but about Raavan, thus to be called as “Ravayana”. Abhishek Bachchan is playing the leading role of Beera, Beera is based on Raavan epic character from Ramayana. Beera is a highwayman who abducts Ragini played by Ashwarya Rai Bachchan to dense forest, and her husband who is a cop Dev Pratap Sharma played by Vikram is determined to catch Beera anyhow and rescue his wife. Beera had abducted cop’s wife Ragini just to revenge on his personal grudge. The most interesting part of the story, which is also the part of climax is, when Ragini seems to have sensitive and silent build up bond with Beera, where she found her self in dilemma whether she should be a loyal dogmatic Indian wife or if she should pursue her suppressed fantasy? Whereas Beera is amused by Ragini beauty and find himself in love with her.
Meanwhile, Dev which is based on epic character Ram and Hanuman epic character is played by Govinda as a forest officer, both restlessly chases Beera. Though Beera is a highwayman, but he is also a local Robinhood and no one supports in locality for his imprisonment. Dev character is a movie hero but Beera’s stronger and compelling role overshadows latter.http://koimoi.c2w.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/Raavan-Inside.jpg
Raavan movie plot is predictable and also acting is good enough but Mani Ratnam’s Raavan movie scores excellent on fanciful, fantastic and picturesque backgrounds. Waterfalls, slippery slopes, ferns-shrubs, and unending fog gives a sense of nostalgia with nature and audience are only left sighing watching these backgrounds in Raavan movie.Raavan music and song routine, is not in actual sense a routine but a outstanding creation of Oscar-winning-duo AR Rehman and Gulzar. Beera-Beera and Behne De song numbers are instant hit in market. And this time again duo had hit the right tone with amazing concept, backdrop and marvelous composition of Raavan song and music.
Overall, Raavan movie is a must watch even for non-regular movie-goer and recommended with high rating.
_BOTTOM LINE FOR ABHISHEK:- WATCH VIKRAM AND LEARN WATZ ACTING

There have been expectations galore over Manirathnam’s “Raavanan’ from the day the camera started rolling. Ah! The top starcasts and technical crew, Ranjitha’s controversies and Rahman’s international recognition struck everyone with even more anticipation at global levels.
Regrettably, the film doesn’t exceed your expectation levels as Manirathnam fails terribly to come up with his best efforts. The basic plot itself is weak as the modernized adaptation of “Ramayana’ doesn’t inherit a good narration. The film hardly caters to the tastes of the South Indian audiences particularly due to its nativity factor. Moreover, one wouldn’t have expected such a threadbare story from Manirathnam, who ardently strived to deliver uniquely innovative scripts in his earlier films.
For the better part, Manirathnam keeps the entire narration neat and crisp with a duration of 130mins. Except for the technical team, the film has no reasons to be appreciated at all.

Set in the backdrops of Vikramasingapuram, cops are relentlessly set ablaze and massacred. Doubtlessly, these shocking events are masterminded by none other than the powerful Veeraiyya aka Veera (Vikram), an outlaw not awed by the law-n-order. Seeking revenge for the death of his sister Vennila (Priyamani), Veera kidnaps Raghini (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), wife of Deva (Prithviraj) – a dutiful cop.

What unfolds next, is a series of conflicts between these two characters as forests and rivers become battle grounds.Aishwarya Rai’s performance is pretty good, but she looks aged. Blame her make-up artist for it. Portraying her as an estranged hostage for two weeks, doesn’t mean that she has to look pale right on the first day itself. Actress Rohini’s voice sounds apt for her just as it was in he Tamil version of Guru. During most of the situations, Vikram’s performance is just a caricature of a psychotically disturbed personality. If he’s an outcast fighting for a good cause, Manirathnam should have established the basic backdrops, which isn’t present here. Prithviraj looks nervous all throughout the film and lacks to bring out any chemistry with Aishwarya Rai.

Nonetheless, Vikram outperforms during the climax (in comparison, Abhishek Bachchan overshadows Vikram at this point). Again, Manirathnam should have closed the frame either after the final fight at the bridge or exactly when Prithviraj says – “I’ll come back for you Veera’. This could have been a fantastic ending. But the extended climax is completely dissatisfactory as Aishwarya Rai’s character is incomplete. Priyamani’s complete role looks like a replication of her “Paruthiveeran’. Karthik’s performance is extraordinary and don’t miss his conversation with Vikram and Prabhu during penultimate sequence. Prabhu gets more footage as the elder brother of Vikram while Munna scores best with his performance. His pathetic culmination is sure to bring a tear to your eyes.

After a very long time, we get to listen to some of the best background scores from A.R. Rahman. He has never been as amazing even with his academy award winning film “Slumdog Millionaire’. Just heed the score when sugar is poured into the petrol tank, it has a powerful musical touch. The songs are perfect and fantastic. A special mention for the choreographers of “Kodu Potta’ and “Kedakadari’ is necessary. Santhosh Sivan and Manikandan offer a delicious visual treat with their eye-catching visuals. Especially the songs “Usure Pogudhu’ and “Kodu Potta’ (Over a single shot, the camera keeps panning all the characters dancing below the shower) are mind-boggling.On the whole, “Raavanan’ is a visual treat, but has an extremely plain script and screenplay. The dragging first hour makes the audience restless. The second half (couple of songs, emotional flashback, stunts over the bridge) is more interesting, thanks to Mani. The film will have a grand opening in the first week throughout all major cities while in town and suburbs, the results wouldn’t be favorable.

When it’s a Mani Ratnam film you don’t have to tell in particular about the visuals or the music or the costumes or the ‘thats’ and the ‘thises’. Then again, you just cannot stop thinking about the visuals the film had to offer. They were such a treat that watching the film in mute shouldn’t be a bother. But, what’s new in this film is the touch of the abstract. Whenever Veera is thinking of something, a series of quick cuts from various angles and moods are shown. This is a brilliant reference to the ten headed thought process of Raavana (bak bak baka bak). And also the simplicity and yet a complex aura the screenplay creates.
The only draw back of the film is the unimpressive dialogues and songs. Though versatile writer, the late Veturi penned the songs, none of them are impressive. Likewise, dialogues by Sriramakrishna were also pale and lacked any punch. The dialogues appeared artificial and gives you the feeling of watching a dubbing film.
Aishwarya’s age is shown on her face and body. She is not that gracious looking young lady anymore. She looked like a middle aged woman in this film. Her performance is OK in some scenes and good in parts. Prithviraj’s role is very brief and he lived up to the expectations of the director. Karthik’s role resembles Anjaneya in Ramayana. However, he has nothing to do in this film. His overall show is average. Maniratnam might have roped in Prabhu to do the role of Vikram’s brother keeping Kumbhakarna in his mind. Prabhu is good as usual. Priyamani played a guest role (Surphanaka who triggered the war between Rama and Ravana) and made her presence felt with her top notch performance.Mani Ratnam’s “Villain” raises questions like – “what happens when hate turns to love. Though like every other film- “Villain” has its slight flaws and loose ends here and there, but it is negligible.

IRON MAN 2

Six months after revealing his identity as Iron Man, Stark Industries CEO Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) has helped maintain world peace. He opens the Stark Expo in Flushing, New York, to continue his father's legacy. A United States Senate committee, led by Senator Stern (Garry Shandling), demands Stark release the technology for military application. Stark refuses, publicly shaming rival Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) in demonstrating how competitors are at least five years away from successfully recreating the technology.
Stark has discovered the palladium in the arc reactor keeping him alive is slowly poisoning him. All attempts to find a substitute element have failed. Slowly going off the rails as a consequence of what he believes to be his impending death, he appoints his former personal assistant Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) CEO of Stark Industries, replacing her with Natalie Rushman (Scarlett Johansson). While participating in a race in Monaco, Stark is attacked by Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke), who has constructed a miniaturized arc reactor of his own, including whip-like attachments harnessing the electrical energy. Defeating Vanko with the aid of his briefcase armor, Stark discovers that Vanko is the son of his father's old business partner, disgraced Russian physicist Anton Vanko, who collaborated on the first arc reactor and has passed the technology on following his death. Ivan blames Tony and his family for his father's demise; Anton raised his son to believe Howard Stark betrayed him, having him deported back to the Soviet Union in order to receive all the credit for the arc reactor. Vanko is broken out of jail by Justin Hammer, who puts him to work fashioning a line of armored combat units that he will use to upstage Stark at his own Expo. With the government leaning on him even harder following the revelation that arc reactor technology is in the hands of someone else, Stark throws what he believes will be his last birthday party and promptly proceeds to get drunk while wearing the Iron Man armor, becoming a danger to himself and others. His friend Lt. Colonel James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) is forced to take the Mark II armor and subdue Tony, delivering the armor to the military afterward. Disgraced, Stark is approached by Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D (Samuel L. Jackson), who reveals Natalie is an undercover agent. He also provides Tony with a chest of his father's old artifacts, which can hopefully be used to find a cure for his palladium poisoning. Stark realizes his father has left him a hidden message in the original diorama of the 1974 Stark Expo; the model is also a diagram of the atomic structure of an unknown element, which Howard was unable to synthesize due to the limits of his era's technology. Tony builds a particle accelerator (held up partially by a halfway-constructed shield) in his home with the aid of his computer J.A.R.V.I.S. (voiced by Paul Bettany) and synthesizes this new element. The element is then loaded into a modified arc reactor chest piece and cures Stark's palladium poisoning. Afterward, Ivan calls Stark, revealing that he is free and set on revenge.
At the Expo, Hammer unveils his new military drones, captained by Rhodes in a heavily-weaponized version of the confiscated Mark II armor. Stark arrives as Iron Man intending to warn Rhodes, but Vanko takes control of both the drones and Rhodes's new armor, setting them to attack Iron Man. As Stark battles against these remote-controlled enemies, Potts has Hammer arrested while Stark's bodyguard Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) and Natalie race to Hammer's Queens facility to stop Vanko. By the time they arrive, Vanko has already departed for the Expo in a new, more powerful suit of armor, but Natalie is able to give Rhodes control of his armor again so that he and Stark can fight together. After taking down the drones, the two fight Vanko in his new armor. They defeat him with a combined blast of their repulsor rays, but Vanko's armor and drones are then revealed to have been equipped with self-destruct charges. As they begin to go off, Stark races to save Pepper, rescuing her at the last minute. She quits her CEO position, claiming it to be too stressful for her, and she and Stark finally kiss. Rhodes departs with the Mark II armor, which he intends to keep.At a debriefing, Fury informs Stark that while he is "unsuitable" for the "Avengers Initiative", S.H.I.E.L.D. wants him as a consultant and wants the Iron Man armor on the team with a more suitable person using it. Stark agrees on the condition that Senator Stern present him and Col. Rhodes with their medals for bravery. In a post-credits scene, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) informs Fury over the phone they've "found it", as an impact crater in the New Mexico desert is shown to contain Mjolnir, the hammer of Thor.

"Ra.One"(random access version 1.0 )

Ra.One (also called Ra.1) is an upcoming Bollywood science-fiction superhero film directed by Anubhav Sinha. The film, which features Shahrukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal, will be produced under Khan's production company, Red Chillies Entertainment.Despite being very upset after his close associate, Red Chillies CEO Bobby Chawla (Juhi Chawla’s brother), was admitted to a suburban hospital on April 4 after suffering a brain hemorrhage, SRK has decided to take care of every little thing in his production house.Since Bobby Chawla’s hospitalisation has thrown the entire shooting schedule of Ra.One in a complete mess, Shah Rukh has decided to lead from the front to ensure that everything is quickly put back on track.“A few of Bobby Chawla’s duties have been taken up by Ra.One director Anubhav Sinha too, but it is Shah Rukh who is now holding the reins of Ra.One,” says a source close to the film.Commenting on what exactly Shah Rukh is doing to get things back on track, the source says that Shah Rukh has taken up all duties which were earlier being handled by Bobby Chawla.“SRK is mainly taking care of four jobs: calling up every actor of Ra.One and coordinating their dates, discussing their remuneration, making sure that they get their payments on time and talking to technicians (including those coming from abroad) for every single production detail, including the special effects involved in the film,” says the source.“Come to think of it, SRK is holding the whole film together. There is production related work, which SRK would have never done otherwise. With Bobby taking care of everything at Red Chillies for all these years, all SRK had to concentrate on was acting. He completely relies on Bobby and is definitely missing him very much. But SRK has decided that he will not give anybody involved with the film a chance to complain about anything,” adds the source.Shah Rukh has a tough job ahead but he has gladly taken on additional responsibilities...both as a friend and a boss.

 Bottom line
Shah Rukh KhanKhan will be playing a Miami software engineer Shekhar in the film, who as a video-game hero takes on his self-created techno-monster "Ra.One"(random access version 1.0 ).This film will reportedly have "breathtaking" stunts from Shahrukh Khan. The special effects team is being hired from Hollywood. Khan has already started working out to prepare himself to be able to perform the "daring" stunts for the film. Khan is now set to go flying in the sky to save mankind in this film.At a press conference that welcomed Akon to India, he revealed that his character can "solidify" electricity and that his team was working on making this possible on screen. He also referred to his character as "Jeevu", suggesting perhaps a double role. The shooting will primarily take place in Miami (Florida, USA), portions will also be filmed in Film City Mumbai and London. In March 2010, Khan tweeted that the shooting of the film had officially begun.Kareena Kapoor plays the female lead alongside Khan in the film; the duo were last paired opposite each other in Asoka (2001).Arjun Rampal was confirmed as the villain on Shahrukh Khans twitter account.During an appearance on the chat show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, Khan stated that Jackie Chan was "approached for a role in the film". Khan had reportedly sent Chan the detailed script of the film, along with the action sequences and a brief synopsis of his character  He later confirmed on Twitter that Chan would not be part of Ra.1.Akon and Khan reportedly met in Los Angeles, USA. It was reported that Akon, besides singing one song, would also form part of the cast. However, Sinha later explained that Akon would "only [be] singing for our film [and] not acting". Akon arrived in India on March 8, 2010, and recorded the song with composers Vishal-Shekhar on March 9 and 10. His arrival was supposedly kept "very hush-hush".
